Fosroc Auracast 405: High-Performance Superplasticizer for Precast Concrete Industry

Fosroc Auracast 405 is a high-performance superplasticizer that is suitable for the precast concrete industry to achieve high early strength and moderate workability retention. Uses:

• Auracast 405 is suitable for moderate workability retention concrete.

Description: Auracast 405 is a unique combination of new-generation superplasticizer based on polycarboxylic ether polymer with a long lateral chain. The electrostatic dispersion mechanism reduces the water demand in flowable concrete. The product comes in the form of a light brown liquid that can be easily dissolved in water. Auracast 405 disperses the cement particles effectively in the concrete mix, exposing a larger surface area to the hydration process. This effect is used either to increase the strength or to produce high workability concrete or reduce the cement content of concrete or to retard the setting time of concrete.

Properties:

• Appearance: Light brown liquid.
• pH: Minimum 6.0.
• Volumetric mass @ 250C: 1.05 to 1.09 kg/liter.
• Chloride ion content is in accordance with BS EN: 480-10-1997.
• Workability retention can extend to 2 hours or longer, depending on the dosage.

Dosage: The normal dosage of Auracast 405 ranges between 0.3 to 2.0 percent by weight of total cement or binder content. The optimum dosage to meet specific requirements should always be determined by conducting laboratory and batch trials. However, dosage beyond limits can be used to meet particular mix requirements in consultation with Fosroc technical department.
Effects of overdosing: Excessive use of this product may result in a delay in the setting time and separation.
Packaging: Fosroc Auracast 405 is offered in drums of 20 and 200 kg as well as bulk tankers for purchase.
Storage: When stored at a temperature between 5°C and 50°C, Fosroc Auracast 405 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months.
Precautions: Fosroc Auracast 405 is not classified as hazardous according to current regulations. However, it should not be ingested or allowed to come into contact with skin or eyes. It is recommended to wear appropriate protective gloves and goggles. If there is contact with skin, rinse with water.If it comes into contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention. If swallowed, seek medical help immediately and do not induce vomiting. Auracast 405 is water-based and non-flammable. If spilled, absorb with sand or earth.
